  • Recruitment & Selection

    Finding the right person for your organisation is never easy, but the recruitment and selection process does not have to be difficult. We can make sure that you get off on the right foot with your new starters, from inviting them to interview to confirming their offer of employment.

  • Offer, Contract & Employee Handbook

    It is essential to establish the terms of the relationship from the outset. With up to date documents that protect your business and clearly define the rules and expectations. We can draft bespoke documents or simply take a look at what you already have to make sure it is doing the job.

  • Induction

    An induction is an essential introduction to your business, it’s culture, practices, mission and values. Because this is so important, we can design an efficient and engaging induction process for you.

  • Probabtion

    They say you never really know what someone is like until you live with them- the same can be said for the workplace. The probation period is the ‘getting to know each other’ phase, we can advise you on how best to monitor and review this period in order to enable you to make the right decision for the long term.

  • Employee Relations

    Day to day matters such as disciplinaries, grievances, absence, employee engagement need careful management. Communications with staff can be critical and processes need to be followed - and documented. We can keep you on the right track with practical guidance and the appropriate supporting documents including scripts and letters, giving you the peace of mind to get on with your running your business.

  • Talent Management

    Talent management encompasses everything that you do to recruit, retain, develop, reward and the encourage the performance of your staff. We can develop a talent-management strategy that is aligned with your business strategy and help you implement it.

  • Equality & Diversity

    Do you know what it is to be an equal opportunities employer? Do you promote equality and diversity? UK discrimination laws are wide ranging and the penalties for non-compliance with them are potentially devastating with unlimited fines and significant damage to your reputation as an employer. We work in partnership with employers to review and improve (if necessary) your culture and ensure that your managers are trained on how to spot and address potential discrimination in your workplace.

  • Change Management

    Change can be a good thing – as long as it is managed properly. Organisation change that affects individuals, teams or the entire workforce needs to be planned with an HR specialist to minimise the impact of unrest. We have decades of change management experience across a variety of sectors.

  • Redundancy

    Redundancy is a statutory concept and only applies in certain limited circumstances. There is a statutory process to complete too. Employers need to consider informing the Redundancy Payments Service if making more than a certain number of employee redundant and must carry out minimum consultation periods. There are other essential requirements to be adhered to before employees are selected for redundancy. Speak to one of our experts before you risk getting it wrong for your business.

  • Dismissal - Conduct

    Whether an employee has stolen from you and their finger prints are on the money or they have hit another employee and you have CCTV footage, there are processes that employers should follow before making any decisions that affect an employee’s continued employment and failure to do so could render a dismissal unfair. Contact us to discuss your situation before you end the employment relationship in order to mitigate the risk of an appeal or Tribunal Claim.

  • Dismissal – Incapability

    Unfortunately, not all employees are capable of achieving a reasonable level of performance for example, due to ill-health or lack of drive, skills or relevant experience. You have to reach this conclusion following a fair and objective assessment. Not sure what this means? We can navigate you through the potential minefield and assess other factors, such as disability discrimination, that you might not have otherwise have thought of.

  • TUPE

    If you are buying or selling a business, the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations ("TUPE") may apply. If TUPE applies, you will have certain obligations to provide information, consult with staff. Employees automatically transfer to the new employer on their existing T&Cs and any dismissal by virtue of the transfer of employment under TUPE can be automatically unfair. Its a technical piece of law and we know a lot about it. Let us help you make sense of it.

  • Restrictive covenants

    Protect your legitimate business interests with bespoke restrictive covenants covering solicitation, poaching and competition of customers/clients and key staff. Our lawyers have the expertise to draft terms applicable to your business and help you to enforce them if necessary. Our insurance policy for retained clients includes (as standard) cover for the legal fees associated with enforcement proceedings*.

    * subject to T&Cs

  • Dispute resolution

    Protected Conversations and Settlement Agreements have become increasingly popular in a commercial world, particularly since the introduction of Employment Tribunal issue fees for employees. We can draft agreements and negotiate on your behalf. We can also advise on alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.

  • Employment Tribunal Claims

    If you are unfortunate to receive a Tribunal Claim against your company, we can provide confident legal representation, including advocacy, to you. Our team has extensive experience defending unfair dismissal, discrimination, NWM, working time and wages claims. We offer legal expenses insurance covering the legal fees, settlements and awards of compensation associated with Tribunal litigation*.

    * subject to T&Cs

Finding the right person for your organisation is never easy, but the recruitment and selection process does not have to be difficult. We can make sure that you get off on the right foot with your new starters, from inviting them to interview to confirming their offer of employment.
